Heading towards Sheffield we have just crossed the freight only Chapel Milton viaduct and are joining the Hope Valley route, under the watchful gaze of the two spotters on the bridge. Our class 108/104 'Merrymaker' is heading for the Flower Parade at Spalding and this freight only line was one of three that we traversed that day. This little freight only spur over Chapel Milton viaduct between Chinley South Junc and Chinley East Junc was closed on 27/2/1966 and lifted only to be restored to use again on 14/12/1980. 4th May 1985
