E53212 E54381 arriving at Boldon Colliery (Tyneside) with the 14:55 Newcastle-Sunderland on 19/07/1983. In the background, the horizon is dominated by Monkton Coke Works. Boldon Colliery station was renamed Brockley Whins in 1991, and it became part of the Tyne & Wear Metro system when the Sunderland extension was opened in 2002.
