In Regional Railways livery, Metro-Cammell Class 101's 101655 (54062 & 51428) & 101653 (51426 & 54358) were arriving at Preston with the Saturday Only 09.44 Manchester Piccadilly to Blackpool North service on April 18th 1998.

In set 101655, car 54062 has survived into preservation at the East Anglian Railway Museum, whilst 51428 was scrapped in 2001. In set 101653, 51426 was scrapped in 2001 with 54358 being preserved at the North Norfolk Railway.
