Strength / stress testing underway in part-built Swindon Inter-City trailer first W79470 in the SNCF testing shop at Vitry-sur-Siene in April 1957. The hydraulics are applying pressure to the coupling area of the headstock. Image three of five that accompanied the official report. The tests proved the soundness of the design which would evolve into the Mk2 coach.
