Old and new at a wet Manchester Victoria on October 17th 1991. The two-car Class 108 formed of cars 54247 & 53964, had been given a retro BR Green livery in 1986 whilst based at Carlisle Kingmoor, and was initially used on the Settle - Carlisle line. The unit was eventually transferred to Chester Depot, then became Longsight set LO298. Alongside was 142030 on a service to Wigan Wallgate.
