A Pressed Steel built Class 117 3-Car Suburban Unit, T308 with Driving Motor Second 51413 leading (presumably with 59509 + 51371), was stood at Lostock Hall with the Sunday Preston to Carlisle 'DalesRail' service on July 2nd 1988. Running via Blackburn and Clitheroe, this service ran along the Ribble Valley line prior to regular passenger services being reinstated in 1991.
