53967 at Carnforth Midland Bottom End yard in 1988. It has sustained considerable damage to the underframe components and bogies after colliding with an engineers wagon on the Up Furness earlier in the year. Records show it would be transferred from Kingmoor to Chester in May 1988 where it spent a month before withdrawal. Did it reach there? It did reach Doncaster Works, possibly with a view to repairing for Chester but found to be uneconomical.
