The Branch Line Society South Wales Wanderer railtour at Gorseinon Coal Yard on 3 August 1975. Ex-works Class 120 set C506 was used, and this view shows centre car W59282 and the DMSL is presumably W50659. Note the text on the two right hand bogies and the substantial chunk of text on the solebar of the DMSL to the right of the nearest bogie. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Set number: C503
A Class 120 (C503, 50711 and presumably 59282 + 50658) and Class 101 (a TBS set) at Fairwood Junction on 18 August 1979. The formation is diverging from the avoiding line towards Westbury. With Cardiff Central on the destination blind it is probably a Weymouth to Cardiff service. C503 had had a non-buffet centre car for several years, but circa May 1979 it swapped trailers with set C504. By the start of 1979 it would become set C502. Michael Mensing.

Class 119 set L571 (51052 and presumably 59282 + 51080) at Redhill on 22nd March 1984. These sets were especially modified for working the Reading to Gatwick Airport semi fast services by converting the old buffet area in the trailer and the guards van into luggage areas. Ian Buck.
