These shuttles on the day of the 150th cavalcade ran to Darlington, and the November 1975 edition of The Railway Observer (p351) lists this formation as 50239 + 59087 + 59094 + 51505 / 50295 + 56075 / 51438 + 59573 + 59086 + 51506 / 56083 + 51209. On 18 February 1984 Hertfordshire Railtours ran a railtour utilising a class 47 with eight Mk 1 carriages between London King's Cross and Darlington and a 7-car Met-Camm dmu formation (53244 + 59084 + 53149 and 53295 + 53150 and 53188 + 51219) thence to Redmire and Eastgate as "The Norseman 2". In this view an HR rep is either placing or removing the headboard from Class 101 DMC(L) 53244. Jeremy Chapter.
