Class 115 DMU at Didcot

26th August 1987

Set number: T401

T401 - one of Tyseley's hybrid sets at Didcot on 26/8/87. The closest vehicle should be 51662. Ian McDonald.

Class 115 DMU at Four Oaks

20th August 1988

Set number: T401

Tyseley set T401, led by class 115 51662, accelerates away from Four Oaks with a Cross-City service to Redditch on 20 August 1988. Mike Dean.

Class 115 DMU at Sheffield

September 1988

Set number: T401

A four-car suburban DMU - set T401 - sits in Sheffield station in September 1988. Closest is Class 115 DMBS 51662, the centre cars are presumably Class 115 TS 59743 and Class 127 TSL 59610. The rear car is a Class 116 DMS. George Woods.

15th March 1989

Set number: T401

Hybrid 4-car DMU with Class 115 DMBS 51662 leading arriving Lichfield Trent Valley from Birmingham on 15-3-89. The set is presumably formed 51662+59610+59743+53886, Class 115+127+115+116, DMBS+TLS+TS+DMS, but formations were very fluid at Tyseley at this time! On Tour With The Class 13 Army.

The vehicle is mentioned in the following images:

DMU

Date: September 1988

Set number: T40

A four-car suburban DMU at Sheffield in September 1988. Closest is a Class 1l6 DMS with the set number missing the last digit - it could be a stand in for the regular vehicle. At the far end is Class 115 DMBS 51662, the two centre cars are presumably Class 127 TSL 59610 and Class 115 TS 59743. George Woods.

DMU

Date: 11th March 1989

Set number: T401

A four-car Tyseley DMU, set 401, passing the signalbox at Bearley Junction on 11 March 1989. This unit is a right hotch-potch with a class 116 DMS 53883, class 115 TS 59743, class 127 TSL 59610 and Class 115 DMBS 51662. This mixture of types was far from unusual at Tyseley around this time with the depot using whatever they had available to keep trains running at a time of dreadful reliability. Peter Tandy.
