Class 117 DMU at Merry Lees

11th June 1989

Class 117 DMU set T311 (presumably 51376 + 59500 + 51334) heads towards Coalville for the 1989 Open Day and is seen here approaching Merry Lees in Leicestershire. The date was 11th June. Andrew Walker.

Class 117 DMU at Llandudno Junction

28th August 1989

Class 117 Set T311 (presumably 51334 59500 51376) tails 116 set T325 with the 1710 Llandudno - Birmingham New St as they depart Llandudno Junction (at 1724) on Monday 28th August 1989. Colin Brooks.

Tyseley's Class 117 set T311 led by 51376, with 59500 and 51334, at Stratford-upon-Avon on 17/Nov/1990. Robert Chilton.

8th March 1991

Pressed Steel Class 117 set T311, the DMS closest is presumably M51376, having arrived in Birmingham New Street from Hereford on 8 March 1991. Dave Warby.

Class 117 DMU at Stratford-upon-Avon

26th April 1991

Class 117 DMU T311 (presumably 51376 + 59500 + 51334) were pictured arriving at Stratford-upon-Avon with an early afternoon train from Leamington Spa on 26 April 1991. The signalling arrangements had recently been changed here with a new starting signal for platform 2 and alterations to the point locking arrangements for the exit from platform 1 meaning that trains were able to depart directly from there, under the control of the tall starter, rather having to shunt to P2. Trains were still not able to arrive directly into P2, this not being possible until later signalling changes when control was shifted to the West Midlands Signalling Centre at Saltley. Peter Tandy.

Class 117 DMU at Stratford-upon-Avon

July 1991

Class 117 DMU T311 formed of 51376 + 59500 + 51334 was photographed arriving at Stratford-upon-Avon with an afternoon service from Birmingham in July 1991. Most of the infrastructure in the background has gone and there isn't an equivalent shot worth the effort in 2022. Peter Tandy.

As the sun stayed out at Stratford-upon-Avon after T311 (51334 + 59500 + 51376) had arrived from Birmingham in July 1991 I took another shot as it stood under the GWR footbridge. Class 150 Sprinters were regularly appearing here by this time and T311 wasn't showing as allocated to Tyseley later in the year. Peter Tandy.
