Class 116/101 hybrid set T042 (presumably 53863 + 51509) arrives at Bilbrook with a Shrewsbury bound service circa 1991. Ian Docwra.
A misty day in early 1991 doesn't do a lot for Tyseley's class 116/101 hybrid set T042 (53863 + 51509) as it comes from the Great Western main line into the local platform with a service from either Dorridge or Leamington Spa. The station here bears some resemblance to one a bit further up the line at Small Heath with a massive building over the up and down main lines, very much a feature of the larger GWR edifices. Both these Birmingham stations now serve only local traffic with no main line trains serving them. Peter Tandy.
This picture was taken on 9 February 1991 showing Tyseley class 116/101 hybrid set T042 (53863 + 51509) about to leave Hatton station with a train for Stratford-upon-Avon. The original slide was taken in vertical format but cropped after scanning to make a better fit on a PC screen. Peter Tandy.
