T039 (53079 + 53746) at Manchester Oxford Rd, having arrived as the 14:00 ex-Warrington Central, 13th May 1991. Gazza Prescott.

24th May 1991

Hybrid set T039 (presumably 53079 + 53746) calls at Knutsford, Cheshire, on 24 May 1991. Jonathan Watson.

6th June 1991

T039 (M53079 (with "341" under the number) + M51505) sits at Llandudno on the 6th June 1991 with the 17:53 to Blaenau. Hamish Stevenson.

September 1991

Hybrid unit T039 formed of class 101 53746 and class 116 53079 was about to call at Small Heath station in September 1991 when it was photographed while working a Birmingham Moor Street to Dorridge service. Peter Tandy.

2nd January 1992

T039 (51505 & 53079) at Wolverhampton, having arrived with the 13:51 from Chester, 2nd January 1992. Gazza Prescott.

10th July 1992

The Crewe to Derby trains offered a good chance to photograph first-generation DMUs in 1992. This was taken at Stenson Junction on 10 July with T039 formed from class 108 DMBS 51928 and class 108 DMSL 52044 with the junction to Uttoxeter and Stoke-on-Trent in the right background. The lines on the left are part of MGR loop at Willington Power Station which was still in use at that time. Peter Tandy.

10th July 1992

After a quick turnaround at Derby on the inbound service Class 108 DMU set T039 (52044 + 51928) is seen on a Derby to Crewe service at Stenson Junction on 10 July 1992. Peter Tandy.

15th July 1992

Tyseley set T039 formed class 108 DMBS 51928 and class 108 DMCL 52044 stands at Derby waiting departure time to Crewe on 15/Jul/1992. At this time the Crewe to Derby services were a good bet for 1st generation DMU rostering. Robert Chilton.
