E54447 + E53377 at Peterborough on a very cold 15th March 1986, with the man on the left still dressed in his 70s gear and dear old set 33 about to set sail for Cambridge. In a matter of weeks it would be transferred away to Ayr. Gerard Fletcher.

Set: 49

At Peterborough set 49 makes a healthy exhaust as it departs for Birmingham - you can almost hear that great Cravens cacophany. Taken on March 15th, 1986, by the end of July 1986, the number of Cravens sets in service at Norwich had reduced to just seven, the set seen here E51271 + E54463 along with six other sets went to Lincoln for a brief reprieve. The tail end of the 08.52 Cambridge - Birmingham with a Cambridge allocated Class 101 trailing, at Peterborough on March 15th, 1986. At this stage this may well have been locked out of use as was often the case with pairs of twin units. The closest set in the DMU formation at Peterborough at about 15:30 on Wednesday 28th May 1986 appears to be a Class 114 set (with oval buffers). It is heading for Cambridge, 31 406 is on a Liverpool Lime Street - Yarmouth service. Colin Brooks.

Class 120 51575 is seen at Peterborough on 24.02.1987 after it's passenger carrying days were over and it had been taken over by the Parcels department. It is presumably paired with 53739, these are believed to be the only pair of this type to have the yellow/read stripes applied. Andy Cole.

Attached to the back of an Ipswich bound Class 101 Met-Camm set, probably heading to do some inspecting in East Anglia and saving a path and driver by attaching it to the rear of a service train.
