Class 117 3-car suburban DMUs Nos. 117313 (51382) and 117306 (51411) stand outside the shunters' bothy at Haymarket Depot, Edinburgh, prior to working evening rush-hour Fife Circle services on 10th February, 1999. Michael Laing.

29th April 1999

Set: 117308

Two class 117 units one of which is 117308 (presumably 51371 + 59509 + 51413) berthed at Haymarket depot on 29th April 1999. Ian Buck.

12th June 1999

Set: 117313

Unit 117 313 shunting in the DMU sidings at Haymarket on 12/6/99. Another couple of these units are visible in the backgound. Within five months these units, Haymarket's last first generation DMU's, would be withdrawn. In the following decade, a large new servicing building for Sprinters would be built on the site of the sidings. Leonard Rogers.

23rd December 1999

Two days before Christmas in 1999 and the depot yard at Haymarket is full of second generation units of classes 150, 156 and 158, with new Turbostars in their National Express ScotRail livery in the background. Sitting forlornly in the centre sidings are the last of Haymarket's first generation DMU's, three class 117's, with two of them reduced to two car units and all now withdrawn. Leonard Rogers.
