Class 101 DMU at Old Oak Common depot

One of the Class 101 Metro-Cammell sets that usurped the Pressed Steel monopoly on the Paddington local services in the 1980s. The unit (set L201, presumably 54070 + 51212) is seen outside the old carriage sheds at Old Oak Common, alongside one of the local Class 121 Pressed Steel 'Bubble Cars' W55023. Chris McKee.

Class 101 DMU at Kings Sutton

14th June 1988

The front end of blue and grey two car Met-Camm class 101 set 201 (54070 + 51212) wasn't in the best of condition with several rusty patches showing when it was photographed just after leaving Kings Sutton station on 14 June 1988 while working an afternoon Oxford to Banbury local service. Within a few months it was repainted into full NSE livery and received an "L" prefix to the set number in line with other units operated by NSE. Peter Tandy.

Class 101 DMU at Henley-on-Thames

Class 101 dmu set L201 (51212/54070) at Henley-on-Thames on 22 April 1989. These two vehicles (new in 1958 and 1957 respectively) were formed up as a 2-car unit while allocated to Cambridge (CA) in 1987. Unit L201 was withdrawn from service on 5 December 1991 and the unit was scrapped by MC Metals in Glasgow. Lewis Bevan.
