E51209 + E56461 on a Middlesbrough - Newcastle service diverted via Eaglescliffe and Stockton goods line, on Stockton, February 15, 1981. During the rationalisation at Stockton services were diverted over the goods lines and around the back of the station John Carter.

E50239 leads a twelve-car Met-Camm formation at Shildon 31 August 1975. These shuttles on the day of the 150th cavalcade ran to Darlington, and the November 1975 edition of The Railway Observer (p351) lists this formation as 50239 + 59087 + 59094 + 51505 / 50295 + 56075 / 51438 + 59573 + 59086 + 51506 / 56083 + 51209.
