Refurbished Class 116 set TS509 (presumably 50072 + 59009 + 50105) at Tyseley on 9 November 1976. Michael Mensing.

August 1978

Refurbished Class 116 set - presumably 50105 + 59009 + 50072 - has Burton on Trent on the destination blind when seen at Wichnor Jct in August 1978. Michael Mensing.

Class 116 DMU at Redditch

14th September 1978

My note says "Last train of the day at Redditch". Taken on September 14, 1978, the timetable was similar to that three years earlier, this makes it the 18.35 to Birmingham, the fourth and final train of the day. Set 507, presumably 50069 + 59007 + 50099. Jeremy Chapter.

Class 116 DMU at Redditch

13th July 1979

Redditch station in the early evening of 13 July 1979. A Tyseley-based Class 116 DMU (presumably 50105 closest) form the 18.41 departure for Four Oaks. Lewis Bevan.

September 1985

Two Class 116 DMUs seen at Lichfield City in September 1985. Closest is set TS509 with presumably 53105 closest. Robert28194.

26th December 1986

Class 116 53098, set number TS509, is seen at Tyseley on 26.12.1986. This was one of the very few to carry it's set number on the front in big numerals. Andy Cole.
