Class 126 DMU at Ayr

circa 1967

A six-car Swindon Inter-City DMU arrives into the through platforms at Ayr station with a service from Glasgow Central. Date unknown - the set number dates it to after June 1966. It could be terminating here, or continuing to Girvan or Stranraer - the 1H45 headcode would probably identify which. Stuart Mackay Collection.

2nd April 1967

Class 116 DMU at Largs

27th August 1977

Largs station on 27 August 1977 contains a Class 116 (right - set 162, SC50899) and a Class 107 (left, set 146, SC52000). Tom Burnham.

Class 116 DMU at Johnstone

17th April 1979

Class 116 diesel unit seen at Johnstone station on 17 April 1979. This was probably a working from the Ardrossan line. The centre coach has been reliveried in blue/grey. Jeremy Chapter.
