101 692, with 53170 leading and 59303 visible behind, leaves Waverley station on 12/7/93, forming the 16.27 to Kirkcaldy. The third vehicle in the set was, of course, 53253. This pair of power cars subsequently acquired Caledonian blue livery. On the right can be glimpsed 53315 at the head of set 874, waiting to leave on the 16.34 to Glenrothes. This was during the relatively short period of a year or so when Haymarket was operating freshly-refurbished three-car class 101 sets nos.101 691-4.
