In a spot of winter sunshine and the moon clearly visible, 107430 (51990 and presumably 59802 + 51803) pauses at Johnstone with an Ayr service on 22 February 1986. Stuart Mackay Collection.
With a handpainted set number (349) and Bangor just showing on the blinds, this 120 departs on the back of the set from Johnstone. The centre car is a Strathclyde liveried 107, and the leading car is a blue / grey 101. Also of note is one of the large side lights is missing about half way along the 120 car. The vehicle numbers should be 53664 + 59793 + 51176. Andrew McConnell.

EP514 - Johnstone circa September 1986. Class 120 unit 514 transferred from Derby Etches Park seen here in Johnstone just before the electrification of the Ayr line. The set was formed of 53705 59264 53687 around that time. Building of new housing developments around the station was in full swing. Andrew McConnell.
