Two two-car Derby Lightweight DMUs head for Leamington Spa Avenue at Milverton (north of Warwick). Leading seems to be M79136, its partner - presumably M79657 - is also carrying the BR emblem. Michael Mensing.

"This was taken on Saturday December 12 1981 after the record coldest night when the temperature was around minus 22 degrees. I spent most of the morning at this spot in the 'dip' between Warwick and Leamington Spa, and this was the only train I saw! It is going towards Leamington Spa - I was too cold to get the unit number (it was minus 20 when I took the pic)." Mel Holley.

The rainbow provides a clue as to what is coming as a class 116 unit (believed to comprise vehicles 51143 + 59627 + 51130) leaves Warwick station for Leamington Spa on what until then had been a sunny evening in September 1984. Bob Belcher.
4th May 1985
A mixed DMU formation with "WM" branding, led by a Class 122 "Bubble Car" approaches Warwick on a working to Leamington Spa on 4th May 1985. While the bubble is unknown, the Class 116 is easily identifiable as set TS611 (53055 + 59611 + 53116). Bob Belcher.

Back in 1988 and an Network South East liveried Class 117 DMU leads a blue and grey Class 119 southwards between Warwick and Leamington Spa. It was not usual to see these units on this route. Bob Belcher.

Set: T316
A battered looking class 118 DMS no. 51321 leading Tyseley's set T316 (51321 - 59473 - 51306) on a service to Leamington Spa at Warwick. The leading vehicle went on to be preserved, via departmental service, and currently resides at the Battlefield Line paired with class 116 DMBS no. 51131. Robert Chilton.

A Tyseley based DMU (T420, 53092 visible) passes under the Grand Union canal between Warwick and Leamington Spa as a traditional narrowboat crosses the aqueduct in the summer of 1990. Bob Belcher.
