Telford Coalbrookdale Station View 8 July 1979. A temporary station was opened here as part of the Iron Bridge bi-centenary celebrations with shuttle trains operating down the Power Station branch from Wolverhampton on Sundays. On 8 July I was the only passenger on the outward journey and using a free staff pass! The Class 116 vehicle is thought to be 51144. Alistair Ness.

In 1979 a series of special trains was arranged over the Coalbrookdale branch to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the building of the Ironbridge. A temporary platform was set up at Coalbrookdale (just past mp161) and here is the 11.45 ex-Wolverhampton at that temporary platform on 15 July 1979; it will return to Wolverhampton as the 16.20 from Coalbrookdale. The train is formed of a Tyseley-based Class 116 dmu, set TS543, with coaches 50895/59350/508942. Lewis Bevan.
