From Strathclyde to Fife. Taken from what is now a tram track, we see a Strathclyde red liveried 3 car DMU accelerating away from Haymarket with a Fife service one evening in August 1987. This comprises most of set 107436 (presumably 51997 + 59784), but the rear car has been substituted with a Metro Cammell vehicle. Murray Liston.

A Derby triple DMU set in Strathaven Central station sometime in the early/mid-1960s. The yellow panel on the DMU cab dates it to 1962 onward, the station closed in October 1965. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Ardrossan Town station on 23rd March 1986 just before electrification, with Swindon Class 120 "Cross Country" 3-car unit, with 53677 visible and Class 107 Derby "Heavyweight" 3-car units in Strathclyde livery, with set 107427 (52020 + 59793 + 51987) at the front. The ruin of Ardrossan castle's 15th century keep stands prominent on the hill. Gordon Edgar.

Ayr Depot yard on 23rd March 1986, with Class 37 37131 and Class 107 Derby Heavyweight DMU 107445, with DMCL 52015 visible. The grey Toad (Type AA21) brake van, DW17415 built at GWR Swindon Works in 1940, is noteworthy. Gordon Edgar.
