Noted that final plan will be circulated for approval during

Noted that L.T.E. are issuing press story on future of
Metropolitain Line service, which includes brief reference to proposed
L.M. diesel service, and draft had been suitably amended and approved by
P.R.& P.O.
2. Priority Scheme
(a) Manchester Part 3 (N.E.Lancs)
Target date for submission of scheme end of June 1959. Now
with Regional Accountant for costing.
(b) North Wales Part 3 (Chester Northgate -
Wrexham (C) - New Brighton)
Target date for submission of scheme was end of May
1959. Noted that some revision of scheme was necessary and now with
Regional Accountant for costing.
(c) Derby, Nottingham, Leicester Parts
2 & 3
Target date for submission of scheme not yet decided but
D.T.S. is pursuing.
(d) Manchester Central - Liverpool
Central Express Services
Target date for submission of scheme end of June
1959. Matter in hand. Provision of six 4-car sets not yet
approved, but agreed that C.M.& E.E. be making preliminary
arrangements for production in anticipation of approval by Commission
for 1960 building programme and of the scheme itself.
