647.  SCHEMES ALREADY IN OPERATION

(1)  Watford - St.Albans
Harrow - Belmont

Noted that considerable alteration would be necessary to the A.C.V. units to convert to parcels vans and it was agreed that the units be handed over to the Chief Civil Engineer.

648.  DIESEL MULTIPLE UNIT DE LUXE PULLMAN SERVICE MANCHESTER - ST.PANCRAS

(a)  Financial assessment - Noted.

(b)  Servicing and maintenance - To be dealt with at Reddish.  The Chairman again referred to the General Manager's comment that immediate cleaning for every trip was important and it was noted that thorough interior and exterior cleaning would be covered each night at Reddish and sweeping, dusting and toilet cleaning at St.Pancras and Leicester.

(c)  Publicity - Noted Mr.Salmon has in hand, but has not yet contacted Metro-Cammell.  Will do so when time is opportune.

(d)  Naming of trains - The Chairman said that whilst the Design Panel had suggested the name "Midland Pullman", a further suggestion had been made for the name "The Director" and he asked Messrs.Gould and Johnson to submit their ideas for a suitable name having regard to commercial considerations.
