3. Birmingham Part 2 Scheme
Units now in course of delivery and being temporarily utilised in other schemes. The Chairman again stressed the necessity for this scheme to be submitted urgently and requested that special attention be given to this with a view to the matter being put to the Area Board and B.T.C. without further delay.
4. Manchester Part 2 Scheme (S.E.Lancs.)
Scheme approved by Area Board and to be considered by B.T.C. Works & Equipment Committee on March 12th. The Chairman asked for further information in respect of number of spare units requested, and justification for high expenditure on Newton Heath motive power depot to enable the scheme to be considered by the Works & Equipment Committee.
Five Derby built (MC + MC) units which will not couple to the vehicles now being built will be displaced from this scheme and Mr. Gould suggested these should be converted to MC + DT units. Mr. Stanley considered this conversion could be done at Derby and it was agreed that the proposal be submitted by the C.& W. Engineer to the General Manager for consideration.
