3.  Allocation of units being built at Derby and by Contractors.  (Contd.)

(c)  As a result of the re-allocation of the nine 2-car sets to the Scottish Region, a revision of the requirements of units for the individual L.M.R. schemes shown below is required by the B.T.C. and Messrs.Gould, Read and Adkinson will undertake this review -

Bury - Bacup
West Cumberland
Birmingham Part 1
Birmingham Part 2
North Wales Part 1
Derby, Nottingham, Leicester Part 1
Manchester Area Part 1
Manchester Area Part 2

(d)  In connection with the delivery of new units from the Works and Contractors, Mr.Read requested that as much notice as possible of firm dates of delivery be given by the Carriage & Wagon Engineer in order that the possibility of utilisation be considered during the period between actual delivery and the commencement of particular schemes.  Mr.Adkinson will keep in touch with Mr.Read in regard to units in such circumstances being utilised in areas in which staff have been trained.

4.  Conveyance of parcels traffic

Noted that three parcels vans with 150 H.P. engines for West Cumberland are have been ordered by B.T.C.  Clayton type of heater has been requested for these vans.

5.  Design of standard units of 57' stock

(a)  Increase of H.P. of A.E.C. engines from 150 to 165

Mr.Finlayson stated that B.U.T. will equip one unit to develop 165 H.P. shortly for experimental purposes on the Bury - Bacup service.

(b)  Advertising in diesel units.

Mr.Salmon reported that no further developments had taken place in this matter.
