Smiths Heaters Fault Finding Chart - Semi-Automatic Types

Follow the instructions below to trace a fault on a heater controlled with a semi-automatic type control box (no through train control).

Starting

Switch to on.
What happens?

- Nothing happens
- Glow plug lamp lights

Stopping

What happens?

- Combustion ceases, motor stops approx 5 mins after switching off
- Fan motor continues to run indefinitely after switching off
