Forty-nine of these power-trailer sets were built for the Eastern Region. When new E56006 was paired with E50006. Becoming Class 114s, it is the type featured in our logo.

They operated in Lincolnshire, Humberside and the East Midlands.

E56006 has been preserved at the Midland Railway Butterley, with power car E50019. It was initially repainted into refurbished livery.

It has been out of traffic for a few years undergoing a substantial interior refurbishment, and is now back in green livery.

Railcar50 will mark the return to traffic of E56006.
