79018 / 975007 Derby Lightweight DMBS

Derby Lightweight DMBS 79018 at the Midland Railway Centre. This was taken on the 31st August 1997, the day on the 2nd National DMU Day, and also the first AGM of the vehicles owners, the Derby Lightweight Preservation Group. The two vehicles had newly arrived by this date and little progress had been made so far.

The DLPG received £49,000 in 2003 from the HLF for the vehicle's restoration. It is seen below when almost compete, in June 2004. Brian Wright
