Pressed Steel class 117 diesel set B433 (presumably 51413 + 59509 + 51371) is seen at Weymouth Quay on 24 June 1984. It formed part of a 6-car set bound, I imagine, for Bristol. The London boat train is formed of an "Oxted" Mark 1 8-set. WR dmus appear to have worked on the tramway in 1983 and 1984. Taken from the "Earl William" as she approaches the Dorset port from Jersey. A Dragon at Westbury. This BRCW class 118 DMU set had been a Devon / Cornwall unit from new, but was reallocated to Cardiff in 1986 where it gained the Red Dragon branding. It was moved to Bristol a month before this photo was taken, the set number changing to B480 when it was seen at Westbury on a Bristol to Weymouth service in November 1987. W51327 + W59470 + W51312. From Yorkshire to Westbury. A surprise visitor to Westbury in November 1987 was class 108 set B960 on a Weymouth to Bristol working. Formed of 53602 + 54197, these had been Yorkshire vehicles from new, but reallocated to Bristol just a few months earlier. Murray Liston.

Waiting at Westbury. Met Camm triple set 830 (53333 + 59105 + 51190) was a long time LMR set and moved to the WR before this photo was taken at Westbury in November 1987. The Network South East flash seems to have been added to the front end very recently as it doesn't appear on other photos of it this vehicle the previous month. Murray Liston.

Symmetrical Strangers, almost. On the left we can see a surprise visitor to Westbury in November 1987, class 108 twin set B960 on a Weymouth to Bristol working. Formed of 53602 + 54197, these had been Yorkshire vehicles from new, but reallocated to Bristol just a few months earlier. The BRCW class 118 DMU on the right had been a Devon / Cornwall unit from new, but was reallocated to Cardiff in 1986 where it gained the Red Dragon branding.
