Barassie, August 1963. This is a Park Royal railbus used for Ayr-Kilmarnock services. On several occasions, a steam hauled two-coach set had to step in when the thing failed. Here it is off to Ayr towed by a Black 5 to get a new rubber band fitted. Corriebob.

A Park Royal railbus at Kilmarnock probably on an Ayr service circa 1964/5. The headlamp above the blind shows it's one of the two original ScR vehicles 0 or 4. They differed in the yellow panel era - 79974 had the corresponding part of the headcode panel painted yellow (this one), on the other vehicle it remained green. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Park Royal Railbus No M79971 in the yard at Ayr shed, delivered in July 1958 to the LM region at Bedford and used on the Bedford - Hitchin and Bedford - Northampton branches, transferred to the Scottish region in February 1960. Withdrawn in February 1968 the body was grounded in Millerhill yard where it was used as a staff bothy on the east side of the up yard and later as as a C&W messroom and workshop, removed during July 1984. and disposed of by been buried in Patersons Tip, Mount Vernon, Glasgow the same month.
