Class 37 no. 37114 "City of Worcester" arrives back at Shrub Hill with a shuttle service from Henwick on 2 May 1993. The shuttle was being run in conjunction with the Open Day being held at Worcester on that day and was topped and tailed with GWR "Castle" Class no. 5029 "Nunney Castle". 3 of the 4 vehicles making up the coaching stock of this train was chocolate and cream-liveried dmu set 117305. This set consisted of 51368/59520/51410. Lewis Bevan.

101 DMU

A hybrid 2-car DMU, T036 (53245 + 53054) based at Tyseley, arrives at Peterborough with a service from Doncaster on 31 December 1992. There is a photo on Flickr of this same unit operating the 12.10 from Doncaster, which ran via Sleaford, so I think this must be that train. Lewis Bevan.

116 DMU

Droitwich Spa on 28 September 1990 - Tyseley-based set TS412 is approaching working the 12.00 Birmingham New Street-Great Malvern. I recorded the power cars as 53116 (leading) and 51867. Lewis Bevan.

115 DMU

Departing Droitwich Spa on 28 September 1990 is Tyseley-based set T407 with the 11.03 Great Malvern-Birmingham New Street. Class 115 DMBS 51858 was the leading car, the others are presumably 59594 + 59442 + 53916. Lewis Bevan.

116 DMU

This is Claverdon station, between Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington, on 6 May 1991. My photo was taken while I was waiting for 71000 "Duke of Gloucester" returning the "Royal Shakespeare Shuttle" to Paddington. The DMU approaching on a local service is a hybrid unit with Class 116 DMBS 53865 standing on for the regular DMS. The set number is T315 (Tyseley), and the other vehicles are presumably 59745 + 51352. Lewis Bevan.

An official image (8 of 13, negative D3054/7) from a internal BR photo album titled "Refurbished Class 116 DMU Prototype". It shows the door to the gangway, thought to be in power car W50911, circa January 1976. British Rail.

117 DMU

Roote, toot, toot. Linwood built Pressed Steel Class 117 3 car set L420 led by MBS W51358 (presumably with 59510 + 51400), passes through Reading on the fast lines with an up ECS working on 28th July 1982. Bruce Galloway.

126 DMU

8 over at the clubhouse. Watched by a couple of local lads, an early evening Glasgow to Ayr service slows to a halt at Barassie Junction. The 8 car rake is led by Swindon class 126 DMS Sc51012. The golf club car park seems well filled, its a fine spring evening after all. 8th April 1981. Bruce Galloway.

101 DMU

Met-Camm class 101 101340 (Sc51468 presumably leads) forming the 13.34 Perth to Glasgow Queen Street stopping service passes the box and crossing at Blackford on 24th August 1985. The signalman has been sharp in returning the peg, the few cars on the road will not be unduly delayed. Note also the differing application of the grey band on each vehicle. The bottom level on the first two differs marginally, on the DMBS the white separating strip is on the bottoms side of the bumpstops which are grey. On the centre car (which has a Haymarket castle) the white line is at the same level as the bumpstops which are in blue. The grey band on the rear power car is much deeper. Bruce Galloway.

104 DMU

Two car to Yarmouth. PW work briefly halts as the gang turn to watch BRCW Class 104 DMBS E50597 leading set 79 with a Cravens DTCL on the 11.18 Norwich to Yarmouth local service spluttering away from the station. A fine selection of traction and stock can be seen in the background. 7th July 1981. Bruce Galloway.

101 DMU

A trio at Ardeer. The electrification masts are just waiting for the knitting as 101360 (presumably 53158 + 59074 being the first two vehicles) on a Glasgow Central to Ardrossan working (I think) passes 26031 and rather cleaner sister loco shunting ballast stock at Ardeer near Stevenston. The ICI Nobel Ardeer facility is off to right with one of the works shunters (poss Paxman 7825 of 1958) visible. Most of the site has now been cleared except for a small section operated by Chemring. 7th June 1986. Bruce Galloway.

120 DMU

529 on the 1245. Class 120 motor second 53651 still displays the remains of old set number EP519 but it is now officially in set 529 with 59124 (101) and 53736. Seen passing North Woodhill farm near Kilmarnock with the 1245 Glasgow Central to Kilmarnock. Bruce Galloway.
