The one identifiable vehicle is E79261 on the right, delivered to Norwich in August 1955. Not all are new vehicles, the lined vehicle on the left is a West Riding car, probably in for rectification. A Lincoln - Cleethorpes service formed of Derby Lightweight vehicles E79022 + E79614 with a parcels van in tow at Barnetby station. Undated, the image appeared in the November 1955 British Railways staff magazine so was probably taken in late summer 1955. RE Vincent.

An official image (Derby Works, negative unknown). No details other than 'inside one of the new diesel trains'. Some detective work - it's a Derby Lightweight, the seating is from the 79xxx era. It's a DMBS (floor hatches and partition into the van). There is no small rear saloon and LMR style seating, which means it should be one of the 46 vehicles built to diagram 633 and initially used in Birmingham, Manchester and North Wales.
