On November 10, 1973, the Western Region ran a ten-car DMU 'London Branch Lines Tour' from Paddington. It comprised a 3-car 118, 3-car 117 and a 4-car 117 set L464 that contained 101 centre car 59538. W51407 is seen at the front during the stop at Morris Cowley. Hamish Stevenson.

19th October 1974 - I braved the torrential rain to take this shot of the Midland Railway's Gloucester Eastgate station looking south with a dmu in the platform. The other end of the covered footbridge joining the two Gloucester stations is in the right background. The goods lines to left have already been lifted. I was waiting for a Southwest to Northeast Class 47-hauled train to take me back to Birmingham. The whole site today is a supermarket. What a surprise! Pete LG99.
