A gleaming Derby suburban DMU skirts Kenrick Park as it approaches West Bromwich circa 1957. The ex-GWR trackbed at this point now carries the Midland Metro and today the train would have just left the Kenrick Park stop. Next would be Trinity Way and then West Bromwich Central. Two Derby suburban triple DMU sets seen at "Rhondda Cutting", Pontypridd circa mid-1958. It carries a plate with its diagram BB, this left Barry at 05:35 for two morning trips to Treherbert, followed in the afternoon by two trips to Merthyr, after the second of which the return run was through to Llantwit Major, a total of over 280 miles. Pontypridd Observer.
