The Looe branch train at Liskeard on 2nd January 1975, formed of Derby set P322 (possibly 50132 closest?). The dmu is standing in the Looe platform that is located on the north side of the station at right-angles to the GWR main line beyond. Just noticed the brake van in the siding on the far left. The line runs north for a short distance before swinging sharply to the east & passing beneath the main line continuing round to head north again to Coombe Junction & reversal down to Looe. BR (Derby) Suburban 3-car dmu (Class 116) No.C317 in BR Rail Blue with all yellow front end, approaching Heath (High Level) on a Rhymney - Penarth service, 02/75. Hugh Llewelyn.
Merthyr (High St) Station, 02/75 with a BR (Derby) Suburban 3-car dmu (Class 116) No.C309 on a Barry Island service. This station was built in 1974 to replace an earlier one adjacent. Hugh Llewelyn.
Pontypridd Station, 02/75, with two BR (Derby) Suburban 3-car dmu's (Class 116), with No.C310 in the lead, on a Trehebert - Cardiff - Barry Island service. Although this station, built by the TVR in 1840, consisted of one (very large) island platform, it somehow contrived to have no less than 7 platform faces, making it the longest on the GWR.
