Class 108 DMBS 53613 at Doncaster Works. No date with this image, but the missing/smashed windows, open electrical boxes underneath, and the condition of the two locos either side, probably means it's after withdrawal in April 1989. It had spent almost all of it's 30 year working life as a North Eastern vehicle, only spending it's last 18 months at Bristol. Malcolm Clements.
Class 108 cars E50614 E56209 at Leeds, 13/06/1975. Note the miniature headcode display, as this was prior to their abolition in 1976. The photographer's notes suggest this pair of cars was a demonstrator for the DMU refurbishment programme, and it generally operated between Leeds and Sheffield, although the original demonstrator was a 3-car Class 101. Class 108 53617, set number B399, is seen at Weymouth having arrived from Westbury 14.07.1990. This set was allocated to Bristol St Phillips Marsh, hence the B set number, and was partnered by 53635. Andy Cole.
This pair of recently repainted dmus make a pleasant scene standing at the south end of York station on my visit of July 2nd 1982. Norwich based twin sets could turn up just about anywhere it seemed and here Cravens Class 105 set E56440 + E51279 is on the left having arrived as the 10.37 from Sheffield. Derby built set E50618 + E56190 has come in from Doncaster. Gerard Fletcher.
