A Harwich-bound class 104 DMU runs into Mistley station around 1970. The Edme factory, which is still there today, looks interesting, although is no longer rail-connected. Scanned from a slide taken by the late Roy Dixon, now in my collection. Kevin Lane Collection.

104 DMU

circa 1970

A 4-car class 104 approaching Woodlesford station heading towards Leeds circa 1970. The vehicle numbers appear to have been covered up by the flowery decorations. The Cravens class 105 page refers to a two-car Cravens and a 3-car Birmingham that were decorated in this way to publicise a Ken Dodd show that was on at Scarborough during the summer 1970 season. There was clearly a 4-car Birmingham class 104 that was similarly adorned. Les Plumb.
