Early morning down at Hereford diesel depot, in April 1987. The 47 is on one of the two morning London services, the other was usually stabled in the station area, whilst the DMUs, the first one being a class 117 (set B432, presumably 51412 + 59522 + 51370), formed either the early morning Cardiff or Birmingham trains. 3 Car Met-Cam Class 101 DMU, Canton set C821, waits in Platform 2 at Hereford station for its departure time for Cardiff Central. It would wait a bit longer as I was its driver, and would have to get over the footbridge. January 1988, 51509 closest, presumably with 59050 + 51513. Paul James.

A 2 car Class 101 sits in the depot at Hereford. DMBS 51209 is closest recently transferred to Tyseley, and still carries the Tyne & Wear PTE symbol from its time at Heaton some years before, and its Norwich set number. Photo taken sometime between 18th & 21st May 1988. Paul James.

An unusual visitor to Hereford, at that time, in the form of a Class 114 'Derby Heavyweight' DMU, set T223 (presumably 54040 + 53006), sits in bay platform 4 at Hereford station. Photo taken sometime between 5th & 8th June 1989. Paul James.

A mixed DMU rake stands in Platform 1 at Hereford station on the evening of 19th June 1989. There are three yellow cab ends facing the camera - the fourth vehicle is either a bubble car or a power car attached to another set. Closest is set T320 presumably 51138 + 59720 + 53890. Paul James.

Tyseley Class 114 DMU, set T026 (presumably 53006 + 54010), sits in Bay Platform 4 in Hereford station on 27th October 1989. Class 114's were not a common DMU type to be seen at Hereford, although in later years Tyseley acquired a right mix of DMU classes/types to keep a service going. Paul James.

37254 waits for me in the Down Relief on empty steel train to Margam, whilst in Hereford station's Platform 3, While a DMU formation with Tyseley Class 117 set T303 (presumably 51364 + 59516 + 51406) closest waits for its time to depart for Birmingham New Street. 10th February 1990. Paul James.
