10th August 1988

Class 114 54901 is seen at Leeds on 10.08.1988 after conversion to a Parcels car from 54016. It had been fitted with roller doors and had been painted into BR blue and grey. It was soon repainted into Royal Mail red. Andy Cole.

Class 114 54900 faces a 128 in Leeds station, probably in 1989. The two types were the only first generation DMUs to receive the Royal Mail livery. Malcolm Clements.

Class 114 parcels conversion 54901 in Leeds station, it appears recently painted into red, making it 1989. The conversion was done at Ilford the previous year, it initially ran with roller shutters in regular blue / grey livery (no yellow stripe) until repainted at Doncaster in early 1989. Malcolm Clements.

Class 114 55931 sandwiched between 55991 and 54901 in Leeds station. The former 53040 had the roller shutter doors added at Ilford in late 1987, initially running in the plain blue parcels livery with yellow stripe. It visited Doncaster Works in early 1989 for fitting of Leyland TL11 engines and repaint into red. Malcolm Clements.
