A Park Royal railbus at Kilmarnock probably on an Ayr service circa 1964/5. The headlamp above the blind shows it's one of the two original ScR vehicles 0 or 4. They differed in the yellow panel era - 79974 had the corresponding part of the headcode panel painted yellow (this one), on the other vehicle it remained green. Stuart Mackay Collection.

On a rainy day at Kilmarnock Class 122 55011 runs into the bay platform, probably on a service from (or to form a service to) Ayr. Already in the platform is 55000, still with a W prefix. There's no yellow on the cab side, so it's carrying blue livery with small yellow panel. Circa 1969. Stuart Rankin.

Instamatic Interludes. Derby Set 155 on 14:15 (Su) Glasgow Central - Carlisle working at Kilmarnock. There were a couple of return workings on a Sunday - including this and an evening service. A change from the usual weekday locomotive hauled Carlisle services. These Sunday DMU workings occasionally produced LM Derby Lightweight sets - but never when a camera was available. 40063 & Class 107 Kilmarnock 29 Aug 1981. The 1981 BLS Scottish tour and a Class 40 vie for a path over the line to Barassie. We won! I later photographed the 40 arriving at Ayr after us. Alistair Ness.

A Class 116 dmu sits in the bay platform at Kilmarnock on 30-08-1986. 47565 is entering with a Carlisle - Glasgow service. A few years later both trains would be Class 156 Sprinters. The lack of set number on the 116 and distinct chip on the cabside means the DMBS is probably 53845. Gordon Thomson.
