A Class 114 DMU formed of E50046 + E56011 is seen at Shepley with the 11:29 Sheffield-Huddersfield service on 31 August 1976. Robert Thomas.

13th September 1978

All change at Shepley. A Derby Twin set pauses at Shepley on 13th September 1978. We had alighted there to change for the Clayton West branch. Murray Liston.

23rd February 1979

Shepley used to be the junction for Clayton West, a branch line which closed in 1983. An unidentified Cravens unit (class 105) seen there is probably headed for Sheffield on 23 February 1979. Jeremy Chapter.

A Huddersfield-bound DMU pulls into the staggered platforms at Shepley station on the Penistone line in January 1983. It is formed of a Class 114 - E50012 seems to be leading - and a two-car Met-Camm. Andrew Walker.

A Class 111 and Class 114 DMU formation is seen leaving Shepley station, on the Penistone to Huddersfield route, on 22nd January 1983, the last day of operation for the Clayton West branch, which diverged from the main line just to the east of here. Andrew Walker.
