The crossing keeper at Lidlington closes his gates as a departing 2-car Cravens DMU rapidly disappears towards Bletchley. Half barriers were later installed and a new platform for Bletchley-bound trains on the other side of the crossing. 15 April 1976. Kevin Lane.

Towards the end of its working life, Pressed Steel class 121 W55023 was repainted in an approximation of its original livery. Here it is seen working a Bletchley to Bedford service near Lidlington on the 29th May 1993. Mike Dean.

Presumably when the units were transferred to Great Eastern from Bletchley, the original blinds were removed to be replaced with Marks Tey/Sudbury. When the units were transferred back to Bletchley, the blinds weren't replaced. These units were subsequently transferred to Aylesbury Depot, where I noted that whoever left the message 'HI' did so with Panini football stickers!" Ian McDonald.
