An accident damaged M79120 being recovered in the sidings south of Lancaster Castle station (looking south) after an accident at Lancaster on 21/05/65. The 7.22am Lancaster-Barrow collided with the 7.32 Morecambe-Lancaster local. The crane is from Lostock Hall MPD, and the photo can also be found in Trans-Pennine Publishing Ltd's book "British Railway's Breakdown Cranes". Bill Warden.

Class 104 vehicles in Lancaster station on a Sunday in the late 1970s. These are related to the derailment of an outbound Leeds train which possibly derailed on the remaining points from the old Glasson Dock branch at the North end of platforms 1 & 2. All trains were cancelled on the WCML through Lancaster while the Breakdown train from Wigan attended. Andrew Pilkington.

Following a minor derailment whilst arriving at Lancaster on a service from Leeds on March 5th 1979, the four-car Class 104 DMU formed of cars E50563, E59189, E59241 and another DMC was moved to the Up Yard Sidings at Lancaster. The following day the set was being examined and inspected, prior to it working back to its home depot at Leeds Neville Hill. The front first class saloon had a broken window on the drivers side. In attendance was an almost new British Rail Commer van, reg no. URC 555S. The 12 Ton Ventilated Van alongside with its doors open was B786766. Martyn Hilbert.
