Farringdon on 31 July 1975, and a couple of class 116 units enter the station with the 17.35 Moorgate to Luton. Kevin Lane.

It has often baffled me as to how it took over 70 years to restore the link between Farringdon and Blackfriars. Having done so, look what it a success it has been! Before all this, a trio of Cravens DMU sets form the 18.27 to Hertford North, at Farringdon on 18 August 1976. Kevin Lane.

19th August 1976

A class 116 set approaches Farringdon, ECS to Moorgate, to return as a peak-hour working up the Midland Mail Line to either St Albans or Luton, 19 August 1976. Cricklewood had a few of class 116 for working the widened lines and Barking services and were probably the only Cricklewood units tripcock fitted. An additional DMS is tacked on, the additional power being useful in tackling the short, sharp gradients. Kevin Lane.

On the last day of Great Northern dmu operation over the Metropolitan Widened lines a Craven set heads back home at Farringdon on the 30th October 1976. Ian Buck.

Working a Midland Suburban train on the Metropolitan Widened Lines at Farringdon is a class 116 set on the 17th August 1978. Ian Buck.
