Class 122 Gloucester RC&W Single W55015 at Didcot on on 06/10/1960 with a service via the now closed Didcot Newbury and Southampton Railway DN&SR. The northern section of the line, between Didcot and Newbury was closed on 10 September 1962. Nigel Walls.

Didcot on the 19th of August 1976 with the Power Station overlooking everything. The slide mount gave Class 119 DMU set L586 as on the 2B40 service to Paddington, but given the tail lamp, headcode and track I think we can assume that was from Paddington. It was probably made up of 51077/59420/51105. In the yard we have 08835 and 47024. 08835 was a Reading loco as you would expect and 47024 spent 1976 flitting between Laira, Canton and Bath Road. The freight branch to the Didcot Trading Centre was opened with high hopes but eventually came to nothing. L402 (51377 + 59487 + 51335), 55020 and L405 (51340 + 59491 + 51381) cleaned the rust from the rails on 30th July 1978. Ian Buck.
