There was little over one year to go for the passenger services on the GN-GE joint line from March when 'hybrid' Birmingham R.C.W-Cravens unit E50595-E56139 was forming a March to Spalding service at Whitemoor Junction on 28 September 1981. The line was closed on 27th November 1982 and lifted a few years later.
