The second of three images at Settle Junction on 27 July 1988, this being in the opposite direction from the first, the Class 111 (78969 + 78919) is on its way to Morecambe. The change in gradient on the Settle to Carlisle main line is very evident and marks the start of The Long Drag north to the summit of the line at Ais Gill.
